From June 7 to July 4, Fuglen Seoul and Working With Friends will be hosting a pop-up in Hannam-dong. Fuglen, a brand that originated in Oslo, Norway, shares coffee culture through Scandinavian vintage design and a delicate roasting approach known as "Nordic roast." The name "FUGLEN" means "the bird" in Norwegian, symbolizing a journey that absorbs new perspectives and energy across different cities. Beyond coffee, Fuglen offers a multifaceted experience through cocktails, spatial design, and exchanges with local art and culture. Loved around the world, Fuglen currently operates locations in Norway, Japan, Jakarta, and more. In October 2024, Fuglen opened its first Korean branch in Sangsu-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

This month-long pop-up goes beyond a simple event—it becomes a collaborative platform where various brands come together to create an experience where everyday life and art intersect. Working With Friends presents "Somewhere Between," an exhibition inspired by the bird, the symbol and identity of Fuglen. Traversing the time and space between Seoul, Tokyo, and Oslo, the exhibition drifts rather than settles—like a migrating bird, it speaks more of passage than of permanence. Seven artists—Yann Le Bec, Jean Jullien, Nicolas Jullien, Mok Jungwook, Yoon Jiyong, Lee Wonwoo, and Nina Koltchitskaia—reinterpret the form of birds and the landscapes of movement through their own unique perspectives, redefining the spatial density of the venue. These works harmonize with Fuglen’s furniture, culminating in a sensorial tableau that evokes an unfamiliar yet poetic balance between forest and sky.

Additionally, Scandinavian design books selected by Post Poetics and music curated by ListeningWithFriend add new layers to the exhibition, infusing the journey with depth and rhythm.

NouNou, the brand led by artist Jean Jullien and director Jae Huh, unveils the "FUGLENounou Face"—a new symbol of this collaboration. This logo, where Fuglen’s bird merges with NouNou’s signature face, playfully captures the spirit and philosophy of both brands. At the pop-up, you’ll find a limited-edition release of two glasses and one t-shirt featuring the FUGLENounou Face, available in sequence throughout the event.

This early summer in Hannam-dong, we invite you to enjoy a multi-layered cultural experience centered around Fuglen’s specialty coffee and cocktails.
